A Message from our CEO

StayWell proudly provides healthcare to people of all ages regardless of their insurance status. The past year has illustrated how critical access to healthcare is needed by everyone. Our ongoing commitment to the region is to deliver the full scope of healthcare for the whole family and the whole person.

For the past 49 years, StayWell has grown to serve the community’s health needs, whatever they may be. In 2020 dental services were temporarily suspended, while widespread testing and vaccination were added. Whatever the service, quality outcomes for a healthier community are always at the center of what we do.

StayWell’s extraordinary staff members and clinicians risked their health, and came together immediately and implemented remote work platforms and tele-health programs. Award-winning services continued to be provided in addition to a COVID response.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and leadership team, we thank you,  the community for your support.

9th Annual Summer’s End Fete

It is with great disappointment that StayWell leadership and its Board of directors announces the cancellation of the 9th Annual Summer’s End Fete. StayWell continues to focus on staying strong during this newest Covid surge and keeping our community Covid free while many transition back to work and school. It is our hope that in 2022 the situation will be different and we can celebrate our well-deserving healthcare champions, Adam Rinko & Dr. Zife Krosi.

Community Covid-19 Testing

With the recent announcement that free community testing will no longer be available, you may be wondering where and how you can get tested if you suspect you have Covid-19 or have been exposed to Covid-19. StayWell patients can call 203-756-8021 and either schedule a same day appointment to asses symptoms, or have a provider order a test to be done at a lab. Other testing options are to schedule a test at a local Pharmacy, either online or by driving-up. Pharmacies also carry over-the-counter Binax rapid tests for those who are symptomatic.

Back to School! School Based Health Centers

Yay! Kids are returning to school. Keeping kids healthy during the school year can be challenging. Finding time to get them to appointments can be even more challenging, especially if parents don’t have flexible work schedules. StayWell works to get students the medical, dental, and behavioral health care they need while missing little class time.

“Mia was a five year old kindergarten student at Driggs Elementary School who was very frightened to have her first dental cleaning, despite coaxing from staff. The first time Mia came to the Center, she could only sit and watch as a classmate had her teeth cleaned. The second attempt resulted in Mia only putting on the masks and gloves, seeing herself in a mirror, and taking a ride in the “banana chair”. However, the third time was the charm. Mia allowed the dental hygienists to clean her teeth. Parents and dentists alike probably couldn’t afford to make three dental appointments without being sure of a child’s cooperation. Mia and the staff were all happy that she was able to have her teeth cleaned without fear and trauma. Mia gained confidence about herself and her ability to have dental care in the future.“
